The Internet is a very powerful tool. Essentially in the past the net was huge archive of knowledge now its much more than that. The Internet is no longer about data its about people. Previously chat rooms were reserved for super geeks and guys with special interests but sites like Bebo and Facebook have made it cool to have web buddies.

In many ways this trend is a good thing it allows kids to interact with their friends from all around the country in a safe and fun way. However in some cases things can be totally different. As the web becomes more of a social medium in also brings with it some of the social problems of society, problems such a bullying and predatory adults who seek out week and venerable people such as children and exploit them.
